Community Advice and Support

News about the Community Advice and Support Service.
From Wednesday 28th September our Community Advice and Support Service will be based in Flintshire’s First Contact Team. NWDA will be running one of the remote advice and information sessions from 1pm to 3pm where we can be contacted by SMS, E-mail, Facetime or Skype.


Great news if you live in Wrexham.
Wrexham County Council and North Wales Deaf Association will be working together to provide services for people who are Deaf, Deafened, Hard of Hearing and DeafBlind.
From September 27th our Technical Officer will be working on Tuesdays doing equipment assessments and provision, and on Thursdays our Community Advice and Support Officer will be providing advice and information.
How to access the service?
For an equipment assessment please contact Wrexham’s Initial Response Team who will pass your details on. You can contact them by phone on 01978 292066 or email to socialservices@wrexham.gov.uk.
For Advice and Information please contact our Community Advice and Support Officer by voice or sms on 07715671010.

 

Other Counties where we offer support.

Our Community Advice and Support service is available to people living in Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd and Ynys Mon.

For people from Gwynedd, Ynys Mon and Flintshire the service covers anyone with a hearing loss and appointments can be made to see you either at one of our offices or at your home. You could also contact us using Skype during this time - our Skype address is nwda.community.

If you live in Flintshire there is also a drop in clinic you can visit each Wednesday morning from 10am to 12noon at the Flintshire Voluntary Council Offices in Corlan, Mold, and for people living in Denbighshire, there is one run each Friday from 2pm to 4pm at the Hafan Deg, Grange Road, Rhyl.

The Community Advice and Support service can:
Provide information about a wide range of benefits and allowances
• Help with the completion of forms
• Translate letters and help write replies
• Make telephone calls on your behalf
• Accompany you to appointments with official bodies for example the housing department or social services.
