Postal Repair Services at Audiology Departments in North Wales

If you are having problems with your hearing aids then the main audiology departments offer a postal service and sometimes an emergency face to face appointment.  Please see below for what each hospital is able to offer.

If there is a long wait ask if you can send in your hearing aid for repair.

Batteries - Please include your brown battery book when requesting batteries by post.

Ysbyty GlanClwyd - Bodelwyddan LL18 5UJ

Postal repair and battery replacement requests are dealt with and posted back (2nd class) on the same day they arrive unless it is a weekend or Bank Holiday.

Wrexham offer an open access repair clinic Monday to Friday from 9am to 12 noon and from 1pm to 4.30pm.  Remember your record book/repair and battery slip and you will be seen on a 1st come 1st served basis.
If you live nearer to one of the outreach hospitals (Mold, Deeside, Chirk, Dolgellau or Tywyn) and want to be seen there please phone Wrexham on 01978 725304 to make an appointment to be seen locally


Wrexham do offer a postal service if you are unable to attend any of their clinics but please include stamps to cover the cost of return postage.
You do not need an appointment to obtain new batteries - just take along your record book/repair and battery slip.

Include your name and address
Information on what is the problem
Check you are paying the correct postage as it may need a Large letter stamp - Post Office will not deliver items with incorrect postage.

LOST HEARING AID CHARGE EXEMPTIONS - You will not be charged; -
If you have a registered cognitive impairment
You are a in receipt of a war pensionfor hearing damage
Are under the care of the Peadiatric Audiology Service
You have a terminal illness
Have a significant visual impairment
Are the registered carer for another family member or significant other 
Are in hospital as an in-patient or a resident of a care home at the time of the loss
Are victims of house theft or mugging. (police incident number required)
Have lost the aid(s) in a house fire
