Living Well with Hearing Loss Project

The living well with hearing loss project started in April 2016 and runs for three years, in partnership with Action on Hearing Loss. It aims to support people living with hearing loss to get access to good quality advice and help people get the most out of hearing assistive equipment and services. It will do that in two ways. The first is home visits, to make sure people have the equipment they need in their homes, they understand  how to use them and are aware of the services in their community and wider area that they may want to access.  The second is through monthly drop in HUBs. The aim is to have at least one HUB in each county. The HUBS will be multi-faceted with information, equipment, social gathering/peer support, hearing aid advice and maintenance and communication strategies education such as lip reading.   These sessions will be inclusive and provide vital support and hope to encourage regular attendees and combat social isolation and enable people to be more independent. The project will recruit and train volunteers to support both arms of the project.
